oesn't Rep. Hope: Urges }-Cent Reduction "By EARL RICHERT A ’ Seripps-Moward Stall Writer WASHINGTON, Mar. 2 — The price of bread should be down 1 cent a loaf throughout the country as a result of the recent drop in wheat prices, Chairman Clifford Hope (R. Kas.) of the House Agriculture Committee said today. But it isn’t. ‘Rep. Hope sald a survey made by the Bureau of Labor statistics showed there had been no net change in the price of bread as a resu't of the wheat price break. “There is no reason why these lower prices can't be passed on to consumers and I think they should be,” he said.
