One of the seven Hoover choices for delegates-at-large from Ohio was Mr. Taft, then a 39-year-old legislator just getting a start in state politics. Mr. Willis’ sudden death less than a month before the primary threw the campaign into confu-~-{sion. Yet both slates of convention candidates stayed in the race.
