Gas Pipe Leaves Scars

Last week our brother-in-law decided to fix a leak in a gas pipe with low torch, This week we have two new suits of clothes as well as a pafk of slightly burned shoes. One remedy is to have a plumber install a larger section of pipe at the top of the stack or a top of Srost-proof construction, If this sounds too ex-

Judge Appoints 3 + Local Psychiatrists SHELBYVILLE, Dec. 24 (UP)— Three Indianapolis psychiatrists prepared today to examine Robert A. Watts, 25-year-old Indianapolis truck driver who yesterday entered a formal plea of insanity to charges he killed Mrs. Mary Lois Burney. Judge Harold Barger of Shelby Circuit Court, where the Watts trial was moved on a change of venue from Marion Criminal Court, appointed Drs. Murray Dearmond, Rogers Smith and Vernon Hahn to conduct the sanity tests on Watts, Following the Shelby County Sheriff Fred Pavey asked Judge Barger to have the Negro, who confessed to killing Mrs. Burney as well as Mrs. Mabel Merrifield, moved to the Indiana State Reformatory at Pendleton. Judge Barger granted that request, along with a request by Watts’ four attorneys that the trial be delayed from Jan. 6 to Jan. 12-to give them more time to prepare the defense,
