Capture of the men followed co-
ities, state police, Monroe County sherifgs and Bloomington city police, : The U. 8. attorney's office is preparing to file bank robbery charges against Forest. Wayne Cooper, 25 Fllettsville, and Dan Richardson, 17, Bloomington $1100 Recovered Investigators said Richardson first
admitted his part in the hold-up of tha Paragon branch of Indiana Bank and Tyust Co. Friday’ and
that Cooper later signed. a written statement of his part ih the robbery. 80 far, about $1100 of the $2000 which the pair got at gunpoint have been recovered and authorities sald they were hopeful of finding more The tip-off on Cooper, a stoker
installer, and his 17-year-old helper, came when the owner of the “Shan-gri-La” tavern here reported the
theft of a gun from his tavern and named two f{requent customers as suspects After questioning, both men confessed the gun theft and the bank holdup. Implicated Cooper Richardson confessed first, implicating Cooper, who at first protested his innocence. Authorities quoted Richardson as saying he drove Cooper's car from Bloomington to Paragon while Cooper drove a stolen car. Richardson said he was unaware they were on their way to rob a bank and that Cooper gave him only $100 of the loot Outside Paragon he parked Cooper's car and got into the stolen vehicle, Richardson said. He said he waited outside while Cooper, entered and held up employees. Coming out Cooper took the wheel and they drove outside Paragon where they abandoned the stolen car and drove Cooper's auto to Bloomington. Paid Note at Bank There, authorities said, Cooper gave Richardson $100. Cooper then paid off a $280 note at Bloomington First National Bank and paid a Bloomington car dealer $50 on his new car. Investigators found $1070 hidden over a rafter in Cooper's cellar. The gun also has been found.
1 In his confession to the holdup, Cc
oper sald he had been drinking. Officers say he has been a respected resident with a good. reputation. Married and the father of two small girls, he owns his own firm and employs Richardson The Paragon holdup Priday wss the third there in 20 years. The first holdup was in 1927. - Six years later the Dillinger gang staged a robbery and escaped with 3900.

Congress is tentatively scheduled to quit’ for the Christmas holidays this week-end. Democrats, who voted almost solidly against the bill, bitterly assailed the Republicans for bringing the legislation onto the floor under procedure. which barred amendments, . Under the suspension-of-the-rules procedure, which the Republicans followed,. a two-thirds affirmative vote was necessary for passage of the bill Most Democrats voted against the bill despite the fact it contained at least two of the anti-inflation measures recommended by President Truman-continued export controls and transportation controls Democratic, leader Sam Rayburn (Tex.) charged that the Republican bill was Cinspired” by the National Association of Manufacturers,
