Judge Says Interrupts Rate Case [] With Comment { &

By RICHARD LEWIS Times Staff Writer GREENFIELD, Nov. 28—In an unusual comment from the bench, Circuit Judge John B. Hinchman interrupted thé .Indianapolis Railways, Inc. rateicase hearings orre today to advise the Indianapolis press that Attorney Joseph J. Daniels had not figured in evidence in this court. Judge Hinchman said he made this remark because “an Indianap-| olis newspaper” had stated that Mr.| Daniels, 11th District GOP chair-| ® man, had recéived a fee from In-| dianapolis Railways. (The Times did not publish the report to which Judge Hinchman referred.) ; “This statement seems to have caused some confusion,” the judge said. “There was no evidence that Mr. Daniels received a fee and I want to make it clear that such information did not emanate in this hearing.
