Flight Pattern |
Low Flying to Stop | Over Brightwood
Brightwood residents are soon to be relieved of low flying aircraft. Carl M. Smith, manager of Brightwood Airport, to the southeast of the community, announced today he had received permission from the CAA to change the field's flight patterns. * { In general, airport flight=patterns authorized by CAA call for a left: turn after taking off and also in approaching the field runways, At the Bridghtwood airport that pattern causes planes to fly over Brightwood community when taking off and landing to the north, northeast and east, : Will Make Right Turns Mr. Smith said ‘the CAA had given permission to make right turns on take-offs and approaches and -the pattern would carry the planes well to the east and southeast of ‘the community. | He said it would take two or three weeks, however, to install the CAA| markers designating the new ap-! proach and take-off patterns, Pattern changes were requested in answer to numerous complaints against low-flying planes by Bright-! wood residents. i

Hector, campaign manager of the committee, said voday. “With only two candidates as against seven for our opponents, it ig obvious that we are not attempiing to gain control of the school board,” he said. “Rather, we seek to broaden the board's membership so that it will truly be representa-

IT HAPPENED HERE
While in an Elevator at Strauss— a fellow passenger. male, remarked to a very charming acquaintance, “How are you? What are YOU doing in The Man's Store?” To which she rejoined very nicely, “They also have & Women's Shop. Haven't you heard?”
There is a Women's Shop at Strauss—
and very appealing, too,
It is strictly in character—it presents the “Simply. Beautiful” Clothes for women of advance taste— Smart, tailored, with
grace-notes of softness.

WELCOME TeacHERs! WELCOME TeacHIMs!
There are something like 5,000 MEN
in attendance!

Being The Man's Store—it would naturally have a gallant atttude toward the Ladies (it says here). It touches the hat to the visiting Teachers (femme). And perhaps because of their greater numbers—and because they make a much more beautiful image on the eyeball . . . the impression gets about (in some quarters) that the Convention is almost entirely on the distaff side.
It is something like the ivay a Society Editress lyricalizes (we hope there is such'a word) about weddings. She details that the bride wore white taffeta and net—and an illusion veil—her cap pearlized with orange blossoms, etc., elc. And the highly important Male in the ceremony—( without whose presence the whole affair would be— wouldn't )—is dismissed by a mere mention of his name and
his Alma Mater (if any).
WE SHOULD LIKE TO REMIND VISITING TEACHERS (GENUS MALE) that when they enter
the Building they are in one of the
leading Men's Stores in America (even beyond America). Our researchets haven't as yet reported from Tekbalet, Algeria or Ystrod-y-Todwg, Wales.
IT'S NOTABLE IN SIZE — but that's not a matter for huzzahs. But it's the tradition of the Store — dating back 94, going on 95 years — yet always facing tomorrow!
IT'S A MAN'S STORE — a Clothing Store — quality minded — selective in viewpoint. It is alert to fashion. It has a stubborn insistence on VALUE— “The Best at YOUR price — no
matter what the price!” 4‘
There's a nice comfortable HAT SHOP on the First Floor— It specializes on DOBBS ‘ HATS — and on CAYANAGH HATS— and HERBERT JOHNSONSHATS (from London) than which there ars none smarter under the heavenly eoncave—

And on the FIRST FLOOR MEZZANINE — is a SHOE Shop — without counterpart anywhere for its club-like ease — and for the character of its presentations, It features ) HANAN — NETTLETON — NUNN-BUSH and names of similar standing in the lesser-priced fields. PLEASE NOTE — Adjacent — is the GENTLEMEN'S LOUNGE in case you desire to relax or do a bit of reading.
On the indisputable theory — that a Man's a Man — regardless of Age— the FOURTH FLOOR is devoted to young men of 2 to about 22 — and it's solid with the Boys. It's masculine in the character of the Clothes. There is a separate section for the High School crowd y-clept. SENIOR HALL. It's done in Wagon Wheel Red — It has a jukebox that plays for free — and a coke machine that disgorges for a nickel.
AND THE SIXTH FLOOR, The SPORTSMAN'S FLOOR — is famous. It presents Spalding and other great notables — in every field of Sports. DROP IN — you'll enjoy the experience —you are more than welcome.
