Pension Fund Here

The Indianapolis police pension fund is $300 richer today because an Indianapolis detective was able] to trap a swindler who had ‘eluded police of major cities over the na-| tion. Detective Sgt. Gerald Akeman| received a $300 check from the Shawnee, Okla. Federal Natidfhal| bank for his capture of Roy .C.| Davis, wanted for obtaining almost $50,000 under false pretenses. Detective Akeman turned the). check over to the pension fund. Safety board regulations prohibit policemen from accepting reward money and provides it be given to the pension fund. Davis, 29, of Oklahoma City, was wanted- for obtaining $43,000 in mortgages on two tractor-trailers he owned. He had mortgaged them for $20,000 to a Phoeniz, Ariz, bank, for $13,000 in Los Angeles and had borrowed $10,000 from the Shawnee bank. Other cities also have reported swindles. Davis, said to be adept at eluding police, slipped through Detective Akeman’s fingers Sept. 12 when he drove through Indianapolis en route to Chicago. however, was able to track down information that the trucker would
