Edsel Ford Estate Tops $131 Million
Dispute Over Stock Settled by Court
MT. CLEMENS, Mich, Sept. 10, (U. P.).—A court order today auth-| orized distribution of $131,548 434 of the late Edsel B. Ford's estate. The order apparently ended a long-standing dispute between his widow and the government over the value of Ford Motor Co. stock. Macomb County Probate Judge Joseph V. Trimbly accepted a valuation approximating $90 a share. The widow, Mrs. Eleanor Clay] Ford, had contended for a $58 valu ation, The department of internal] revenue’s tentative figure for tax-| ing purposes was $190. . The order was addressed to Mrs. Ford, who is administratrix for her | husband's estate. Foundation Benefits Judge Trombly accepted a $108,842,810 valuation on 1,163,509 shares of class A non-voting common stock of the company and a $5346,990 value on 59,411 shares of class B voting common stock. Edsel Ford's four children, Henry
Benson Ford, Mrs. Joséphine Clay Ford and Willia Clay Ford share the class B common stock. ‘The class A stock and $148487 in real! estate were left to the Ford foundation. Distribution included $11,030,829 in personal property left to the widow, The court will rule later on dis tribution of some $45 million to $70 million in cash and government securities, which would lift the total value of the late motor magnate's estate to between, $175 million and $200 million.
