Garden Clubs Book Annual

Flower Shows

Crooked Creek Event Will Be Friday Night| The Crooked Creek and Arbutus] Garden clubs will hold their an-| nual flower shows during the com- | ing week. Mrs. R. C. Soots is chairman off the Crooked Creek show scheduled at 7 p. m. Friday in the Crooked | Creek school auditorium. Members of the club, school chil-| dren, the Homemakers club and special exhibitors will take part. Judges will include Mesdames Howard Aldrich, Ray Thorn, Norvin Strickland and Myrtle Newlin. Mrs. B. H. Gardner ‘is the club president. Committee chairmen include Mesdames Enima Shamel, Merlin King, J. J. Olendenning, Ralph Minnick, Wayne M. Harvey and E. F, Jasper. The Arbutus club will stage its show at 1 p. m. next Monday in the home of Mrs. Charles Hammond, 7248 N. Pennsylvania st. Mrs. Frank Welcher and Mrs. Maurice Cravens will assist. This show is divided into two classes. The first section includes cultural classes of zinnias, asters, marigolds and gladioli, and the second section includes eight classes of arrangements, Mrs. Robert F. Mannfeld, central west chairman, and Mrs. John| Downing, Indiana Garden chub president, will be guests of the club. The general chairman for the show, Mrs. William Zaiser, has announced the following committee members: Mrs. W. T. Finney, schedule; Mesdames A. P.
