= Featured on the annual “bean /dinner” event will be awards to {the oldest soldier veteran in at{tendance and also the youngest jehild present, For many years following the Civil |war, Brown county Civil war veterans. gathered: to stage the “bean {dinner.” 'Huge iron pots of beans [were cooked for the ‘event and [served with "hard-tack” to recall [the war experien nees for “boys in blué.” The annudl event has usually been held at the Duncan school1house, southwest of Nashville, but! this year the veterans of world war I and world war II have arranged for the “bean dinner” to be held at the jamboree grounds.
