Umpires Named For All-Star Game
Frank C. Lane, president of the | American Association, has an- | nounced the umpires for Legion | Junior baseball night Tuesdgy at Victory field. Umpirés Bob Austin, Bob Hicks and Milt Shofiner will be assigned heré that evening and will work both games. Acton, 1946 champions, will play an all-star team from the 11th district American Legion junior league beginning at 6 o'clock. Between game ceremonies will include a “march of the colors” flag raising, presentation of mementos to team members, and a short talk by the world’s most famous baseball figure, George Herman (Babe) Ruth. High state and eity officials, and officers in the American Legion and Ford Motor company will be present for the program and the ball games. Other than Ruth's, however, no speeches will be made. Indianapolis and Milwaukee will start the regular attraction at 8:30. Previous to the league game, Indians and Brewers will participate in the junior baseball night program. Tickets will be on sale in the Claypool and Lincoln hotels until Tuesday noon.
