August Plenty Offers Chance For Canning Pressure Cookers Tested for Timing PEACHES and cantaloupes will be plentiful on markets generally] throughout the country in August, marketing specialists of the U.'B. agriculture department expect. Most of the cantaloupes on the market in heavy supply in early August will come from the San Joaquin valley in central California, the principal cantaloupe-producing area of the United States. A crop of about six million crates is expected, which is triple the size of prewar crops from this section., Oranges and lemons will continue in plenty during August’ as will canned citrus juices and canned grapefruit segments. Other plentiful canned items for next month are: Canned tomato juice, canned peas (standard grade), canned beets, diced and cut, and canned carrots, diced and cut. Peanut butter and cottage cheese will be in good supply. » ” ~ THE STANDARD processing | times, recently established for home
