EVANSVILLE, Ind, July 25 (U. P.).—~Rookie Dick Manville, appear- , ing In his third professional baseball game and his first with the Evansville Braves, held Davenport, Jowa, hitless in a seven inning Three-Eye league game last night. Manville, former Yale university, hurler, was optioned to Evansville by Milwaukee of the American association this week. He had appeared in two games with the Brewers. Only five men got on base for Davenport. Manville walked three and two were safe on errors. Evansville won 6-0. It was the first game of a double-header and was limited to seven innings.

All-Star Contest To Start Program

Junior Baseball moves into Vietory field tonight for its annual program with a double-header scheduled to start at 6 o'clock. The East-West all-stars tangle in the opener, and Luke Allison's Capitol Oil club meets the Brook side Spartans, managed. by Dan Moriarty in the 8 o'clock attraction. The all-stars represent all the leagues in the 15-year-old division. Thirty-six players were picked by Herman Olsen, Jim Miller and Alonzo Watkins for the Western section and Jim Brown, Joe Gooden and Bill Reagel for the Eastern. The Oilers and Spartans were picked as the standout clubs in the Class A division qf the league. They were finalists in last year’s city tourney in which Capitol Oil gained a 2-1 decision,
