No formal charges were filled against U Saw, | who was premier of Burma during the Japanese occupation. Since then, he has reported frequent attempts on his life. Among those arrested in Rangoon was Roh Yah Haing, son-in-law of Ba Maw, who was widely known for his association with the Japanesesponsored government during the war, British army public relations officers reported “everything is peaceful so far” in Rangoon, although tension was high.
