Hint Dog Survived Bikini Atom Blast

WASHINGTON, July 17 (U. P.) — Scientists roaming Bikini atoll to re-examine the scene Of last year's atomic bomb tests have evidence that a dog has been thriving on what they thought was a deserted island. When they first Tuesday, the scientists discovered fresh” tracks made by a dog and found numerous ‘insects on the atoll, While no trace of the dog itself has been seen, the navy considers it possible that one was left behind when the island was combed for the removal of every living creature in 1045. . It was recalled that a mascot with the original test group had given birth to a litter just before the bomb blast, One of her-puppies may have béen inadvertently - left behind to enjoy the solitude. The group landed with Geiger counters to test radioactivity and wearing heavy protective clothing. In their firsts look over the tiny atoll, they found some radioactivity on the beach, and stronger amounts on life rafts and other ships’ gear tossed up on the beach.
