Cobb to Go Aug. 15 For Land Speed Mark

BALT LAKE CITY, July 15 (U. P.) ~John Cobb, Britain's superspeedy fur broker, will attempt to break his own auto land speed record ‘of 360.5 miles per hour on Aug. 15 on the Bonneville Salt

HOW did Fall Creek wander way up north then? In 1874, the City Council ordered a “cut-off” to be made in Fall Creek near the ~ City Hospital, even then located near 10th Street and Indiana Avenue, to carry its water to the river in a more direct route. Just why, the books don’t say; maybe the lowlands were swampy and unhealthy. : >

BUT whether you look at Fall Creek of today, or where it used to be, you'll see us nearby. Our Riverside Station is located in the angle of Fall Creek and White River, 1947 junction. Our Wash ington Station, pioneer pumping unit in the city, is on the east bank of White River at Washington Street—has been since 1871.
