Rescuers Search Tennessee Cave For Missing Man

Llib —————————— CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. July § (U. P).~Hollins Hun was satisfied today that at least he had help to search for his. missing brother in the mile long Nickajack cave in the vicinity of Lookout mountain. For almost two days Mr. Hurn had gone through the dank, black corridors of the bat-infested cave, calling out his brother's name, His voiee brought back only echoes. Police had thought it a hoax. The missing John T. Hurn of Nashville started exploring the cave on Tuessday for a possible tourist attraction. He hasn't been seen since. . 8» MR. HURN'S search finally convinced state highway police, who rounded up a trained cavern rescue party now settled around the near hotemiets depths of a subterranean |

es searchers believe that they found the spot where John Hurn had slipped and rolled down a clay bank into the water. There were unmistakable clawing marks of a Hand from the top of the bank to the water. The searchers waited until grappling equipment could be brought into the cave to penetrate the water's depths.
