Discusses Bill Today NEW YORK, June 25 (U, P.).~ Resolutions ‘on the admission of 400,000 displaced persons and universal military training were expected to be contested vigorously today at a general session of the 56th annual convention of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt went on record last night in favor of the: Stratton bill now before congress, calling for the admission ‘of refugees, but an earlier discussion made it apparent that any resolution on the subject would be contested. Mrs. Roosevelt said she was “very much in favor” of the bill, and challenged the argument that the admission of displaced persons would cause unemployment. Many refugeés in tha past few years have become employers, she said.

At the encampment she will meet Elsa Vallarino, Quito, Ecuador, with whom she has been corresponding. “Friendship Builds a Better World” is to be the theme of the meeting, and delegates will discuss the role they can play in building world peace. Miss Lois Fisher, author of “You and the United Nations,” will lead a @scussion about the U, N. on July 12. Other speakers will include Mrs. C. Vaughn Perguson, president of the National Girl Scouts, and nationally known Scout leaders and edycators. July -4 will be celebrated with a pageant, “The Building of a Nation.” [Foreign delegates will be welcomed in a ceremony June 29. James H. Duff, governor of Pennsylvania, will be the main speaker.
