The Rev, J. A. Lord, who as a chaplain in world war I, was credited with saving a life of Gen. William Kepner in France, died in Clay county hospital today. The Rev. Mr. Lord had served as pastor of Brasil's First Methodist church for the past year after previously serving at South Bend, Chesterton, Oxford, Lafayette, Terre Haute, Zionsville and Frankfort. He was gassed and wounded in the battle of the Argonne in the first world war and was said to have saved the life of Gen. Kepner of Kokomo, then a lieutenant, by tak-
