Polishing Job Is Passe
In grandmother's day, s bride's most important job was polishing her sliver—and thereafter it was her solemn duty for the rest of her ltfe! But now with a new silver wrap, a soft flannel cloth which absolutely prevents tarnish, this is no longer necessary, With it, the modern bride can put her “party” pieces (or her everyday flatware) in this cloth and when she takes it out— the next day or years later—it will . be as spotless and shining as the day she laid it away. : For a sudden party, the unexpected guest, at a moment's notice, or for daily use, she is all set. No additional washing is needed because the silver wrap is harmless. It's sold in linen, housewares, silverware and notion departments of most large stores. Bags can be made or bought ready-made of this same cloth in most stores.
Salad Days Come With Summer
Summertime is salad-time, too. Remember to keep salad ingredients fresh and crisp. Also remember that real mayonhaise is a rich, flavorful topping for all types of salads and that it combines with different ingredients, such as chives, cheese, tomatoes, French dressing or fruit juice, to give an endless variety of dressings.
Candy Consumption Is Way Up There
Every man, woman and child in the United States ate an average of 18.7 pounds of candy during 1045. Of course, everyone didn't eat that much—some ate more. The young man who bought candy for his sweetheart, and the “old man” who bought it to get out of the dog-house, did much to bring the hational total up to a sweet 18.7,

The Shoe Styles Change To Keep Sales Up, It Seems.
MILWAUKEE, June 20 (U. P). —There is a method to the madness of constantly changing styles for women’s shoes, an expert on shoe fashions said this week. “You change a style,” he sald, “and women see it. They just HAVE to have a new pair of kicks to keep up with the times.” The expert—who said he would just as soon remain anonymous— wag among the eastern designers who displayed for buyers 10,000 samples of what women will be wearing this fall.
. v . JACK GOODMAN, eastern na-|-tional shoe representative, said that among the new styles were high-heeled shoes for * milady’s ankle whistle-bait,” spike or Cuban heels, or no heels at all, They come in gray, rust, wine and plum, The “fiatties,” he said, are designed for tall girls, as well as the high school and college girl. The ladies themselves actually have little choice in what they will wear. “Stylists see a shoe somewhere that they think could stand a little change,” the easterner said, “They add a few holes or take some out, or maybe put on a strap or a buckle.” Most of the stylists for women's footwear, by the way, are men.
