Clem C. Davis Rites Will Be Sunday
Clem C. Davis, a retired machinist for the New York Central railroad, died yesterday in his home, 2624 N. Chester st. He was 61. Mr. Davis was a native of Dela~ ware courity and-had lived most of his life in Maripn county, He was a member of Indianapolis Lodge 669, F.& AM Services will be at 10 a. m. Sunday in the home and at 2 p. m. in Maxville church. Burial will be in Maxville cemetery. Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Mary Davis, and two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Smith and Miss Chloe Davis, all of Indianapolis.
Fred Berkes Dies;
PT. WAYNE, Ind, June 6 (U. P.). —Funeral arrangements were made today for Fred Berkes, 64, commissioner of the United States district
court for northern Indiana, who died suddenly at his cottage in La-
heart attack after his arrival at the Lake-of-the-Woods ‘cottage late yesterday. An electric meter reader discovered Mr. Berkes ill. He had left here alone yesterday afternoon. Mr. Berkes had practiced law in Ft. Wayne for 20 years and was active in Democratic politics. Survivors include his wife and four children. His mother, Mrs. Anna Berkes, and two sisters live in Kendallville.
