P)—A working agreement between the na tion's two major professional basketball leagues was put into effect today snd ‘it was believed it would lead eventually to a post-season “world series.” The agreement made no mention of post-season competition but officials of both circuits, the Basketball Association of America and National Basketball league, stressed that there was close harmony and that it was “a great for. ward step for the sport.” The leagues, making a joint annouicement, said they had worked out the drafting of more than 100 players, patterning the agreement after the National professional league football draft.
