Hot ~ Water Tanks Need Insulation

Since everyone has so much money these days we won't suggest that you insulate the hot water storage tank just to save a few nasty dollars on fuel bills. That idea might offend people and anyhow, we've got a better angle. . A hot water storage tank should be insulated so it won't make the house any hotter than the said house is going to become in July and August. If you want to know how much heat escapes from a tank of hot water, sit-on one for a couple (of hours,

we’ , An asbestos air cell insulation is swell for this job. It comes in several thicknesses and the thicker the better. The people who make insulation have done theit best to make this job easy. The insulation comes in curved sections that are held onto the tank by means of metal bands or some similar device. Included in the package is some asbestos cement which you mix with water and smear on the top and bottom of the tank. You order the insulation for the tank according to the’capacity, from your plumbing supply house or some similar outfit. Don't worry if you happen to have a horizontal storage tank because they make insulation for this kind as well as the more common vertical tanks.
