CLOSE CALL—Bud Winfield, designer of the two Novi Governor Mobil Specials, is shown in the cockpit of one after it spun with him yesterday in the northeast turn at the Speedway. Traveling at a pretty lively clip, Winfield said he hit a "slick spot.” The car spun down on the apron, shot up almost to the outside retaining wall and spun back down on the apron. Winfield was uninjured and—except for a coating of mud—thé car also escaped.
