He was instrumental in building a new hospital in India, was superintendent of a leper asylum, directed the schools of his area and engaged in evangelistic work. He envisions -two independent states, Pakistan and Hindustan, coming out of today's confused political situation. The present bloodshed between Moslems and Hindus will end with the division into two states, he prdeicts: In spite of all the strife among the natives, they do not‘ harm Americans in any way and deeply appreciate the work of the missionaries, Dr. McGavran reports. Desribes Co-operation Plan To satisfy an inquirer, Mrs. Johns sat for an hour in her spaciuos living room, in her University ave. house and desribed her plan of family co-operation. “1 firmly believe that home comes first,” she said. “For that reason I couldn’t hold the church job if Mr. Johns and the children hadn't been anxious that I take it and hadn't promised to help.” Mr. Johns is a businessman of many copcerns of his own. Jack is 18, Tom 16, and Nancy 14. All three children attend Howe high school. On a typical Sunday Mrs, Johns rises at 7 a. m. She gets breakfast for herself and her husband, starts a slow cooking dinner and is driven by Mr. Johns to the church by 8 a. m. From then until bedtime, she shuttles back and forth between the church and home attending this meeting and that. - Get Own Breakfast The sons and daughter get their own breakfast. Jack teaches a class of 8-year-old boys who drafted him because he plays varsity football at Howe. Tom and Nancy belong to Sunday school classes. The whole fant is present for morning

Dal and eager for that simmering pot roast with vegetables, they all hurry home after church. Everybody helps to get dinner on the table by 12:30 p. m. Somebody volunteers to wash the dishes. Mr, Johns drives his wife back to church by 2 p. m. Tomorrow night, the whole household will attend the Family Week dinner and Mdther’s day services at the church. Nancy and Tom will sing in the youth choir, “That's the way it goes” Mrs.

But certain events, concerts, plays, parties and church services won't wait. If on occasion, we neglect a few domestic chores to attend them, I think that’s all right.” When asked if she shad a “very religious” upbringing, Mrs. Johns replied: “Only average.
