est are those in-Whieh the m manthe house takes as active a part as his wife in entertaining their friends. Do you “allow” your husband to play host, or do you take over the
lf role all by yourself?
The question is asked because there are so many wives who think that entertaining is the exclusive domain of the little woman. At best, such women treat their husbands as guests when they give parties; at worst, as pieces of furniture. Lacking other opportunities to dramatize themselves, they give their all to the role of hostess, and are unwilling even for their “leading man” fo Share the bows. » » WHAT THEIR parties lack, as a result, is the vitality which a male host contributes, and the extra flavor which a man’s - efforts at hospitality add to the woman's graciousness toward guests and thoughtful concern for the smooth functioning of her household. In defense of the right of a husband. to help entertain, it may be said that he DOES enjoy the status of head of the house. He should
guests gather under his roof. -
