NEW YORK, April 2 (U. P)— Caramel and chocolate minks, licorice and vanilla broadtails, and fur “shawls” with a spun sugar lightness will be wrapped against breezes this spring, Fur designer Esther Dorothy, who has long shown groups of inexpensive furs dyed all the colors of the rainbow, concentrates her off-sea-son” showing of spring furs on twotone effects created largely with more usual fur: colors. She has abandoned the long stole of the last few seasons to show a line of beautifully worked fur | scarves, walist-length capes and short flared jackets for wear over Easter suits. For the first time in many years she's taking heads and tails ‘out of the scrap basket for trimmings. Fur en Chiffon
Particularly notable in the collection are the fur scarves. Miss Dorcthy calls them “shawls”—which are something new in the way of a shoulder piece. Marten, mink, silver, brown and platinum fox are worked on chiffon instead of leather for light weight and frequently for transparency between skins. When hung straight over the

FEATHER LIGHT— _
Entirely worked on chiffon, Esther Dorothy's platinum fox shawl is feather-light and drapeable. It has a rounded shoulder line.
Wear it on one shoulder, off the .other, for a smart complementary ook to spring suits and dresses.
shoulder the scarves hang a little above the knees front and back Their centers are narrowed, frequently with an animal head. Their lengths are elongated ovals. New to the neckplece furs is one “shawl” in soft- brown nutria. Miss Dorothy likes a penguin effect in short jackets. She uses white broadtail for .the front, black for the back of both loose and fitted jackets. One beautifully useful waist-length jacket is reversible— white broadtail on one side, black seal on the other, pockets either way. Colors Are Contrasting
Dark ranch mink and light wild mink are used together for a back
and front contrast jacket and a beautiful half and half circular
cape hung with tails its full circumference. They are also worked together for a two-tone shawl. Miss Dorothy, who thinks furs have a place in sportswear as well as dress-up, shows several waistcoat jackets in hroadtail and lamb. They have cap sleeves, back belts and rounded front panels, and they are buttoned in gold or silver or antiqued jewels, Very tricky over slacks.
