Holy Week Reminder Loaned to Museum
An odd little crucifix made 800 France, stands as a reminder of holy week in the Herron Art museum, The figure of Christ in worn gold is wrought in relief on a cross decorated in green, blue, white and red enamel, The corpus is slender and serves merely as a design. The head and arms are flat and without modeling or features. The crucifix has been ‘loaned to the museum for an indefinite period by an anonymous friend. It has been carefully covered by a glass case and stands on a base of its own. Above it hangs an old and valuable painting of the crucifixion and - nearby, a Flemish figure of the Sorrowful Mother.
