CHICAGO, March 20 (U, P.).— The United Railroad Workers (C. I. ©) today asked {ts 125,000 members employed by 14 railroads for authorization to demand an industry wide 30-cent hourly wage increase. Also submitted to a referendum was a proposed demand for a guaranteed annual wage, a 40-hour week, paid vacations and shift differentials, : The demands first were formulated for presentation to the Pennsylvania railroad. Union officials decided to present them for consideration by the entire membership.
