CHAPTER FIVE HALLOWEEN night Mona was dressing to go out to a party with George Brothers when the telephone rang. : Sherry answered. It was Tony. “Are you busy?” he wanted to “Kris and Sandro are out and I've got the car. Would: you like to do something?” “I'd love to!” Sherry told him. “Come over in about 20 minutes.” And she hung up. “I'm going to dress,” she said to Mona. “We'll probably only go to

Mona shut the bedroom door and called, “Good night, darling; have a good time” Sherry put on a well-worn black velvet. It had been a good dress and she always felt comfortable in it. Then she slipped on her squirrel Jacket that she kept for very best. When Tony came to the door he looked surprised and a little worried. He said, “I just thought we might take a ride,” very quickly. Sherry nodded. “That's why I dressed so warmly,” she told him. Tony seemed relieved. He sald, “You look lovely.”

Suddenly Tony sald, “We ought to go to a party tonight. ‘That's the devilish part of being poor, it shuts you out of things.” He sounded bitter. Sherry felt sorry for him.

ought to be sitting in the back of a limousine with a chauffeur,” Sherry shook her head, “No, then we wouldn't have the

Sherry said, “When you're a great director, you'll know how to make people feel the things you've felt.” Tony . said, “And you will write my stories!” They made a lot of plans. Now it all seemed so easy to do, so simple to achieve. Sherry sighed. Tony said, “Happy?” Sherry smiled. She said, “I never was so happy in my life.” For a minute Tony looked as if he was going to say something. Sherry hoped he would kiss her, but he said, “It's pretty late. Td better take you back.” They did not talk much on the way home. Sherry had a lot of time to think. Love would be like this, she thought. That's what had happened to her! She was in love!

Airports Used IPOItS used as Recreation Centers WASHINGTON, March 18 (U, P.). —The next 10 years may see New York state with mre than 250 civilian airports, many of them also serving as recreation centers, according to - an airport-building trends analysis. Tha state now has 138 civilian airfields.
