Lost Plane Lands At Mishawaka
MISHAWAKA, Ind, Feb. 21. (U.
P.) —A twin-engine Lockheed plane, |.
missing many hours on a flight to South Bend, Ind, landed safely at the Mishawaka airport last night, it was learned today. The privately-owned plane was piloted by Gleen Moon, South Bend, and carried two other passengers. It was owned by the South Bend Tool and Die Co. Mr. Moon was awakened from a sound sleep at his home this morning to explain why. he changed a flight plan filed in Buffalo, N. Y,

He sald ‘he contacted an airport: at Romulus, Mich, as he approached South Bend, and told tie control tower by radio that he intended to land at Mishawaka if the field was clear. “The static .was bad,” Mr. Moon said, “and- the control’ tower apparently. misunderstood or didn’t get my message plainly.” Mr. Moon: was accompanied by Melvin J. Meek, South Bend, and Miss Anne Wallace, New York. He and the passengers went to their homes and thought nothing more about the flight and the change in plans. Michfgan and Indiana state police had béeén alerted for hours this morning, seeking information about the plane,
