Once Carried War Materials to Russ

SHANGHAI, Feh. 13 (U. P).—| Battered freight gondolas and boxcars that once carried allied war materials frdm the Persian gulf through Iran into Soviet Russia now {are carrying relief cargoes into the devasitied areas of south China. The cars . were purchased by! * [UNRRA at the end .of the war to| aid in the rehabilitation of China's| war torn transportation system. | They were dismantied if” Persia | and shipped to the port of Kowloon. ! There British workmen reassembled them. Now approximately 1200 railway] carriers —-ranging from S50-ton| freight cars to 20-ton gondolas—! have come off the noisy assembly lines of the Canton-Kowloon railway's British section.
