107,000 Find Jobs Through State Agency

The Indiana employment security division said today that more than 107,000 persons were placed in jobs in Indiana during 1946. Noble R. Shaw, director of the division, said that among those who sought and found work through the employment service were 37,000 war veterans. He said his offices had worked especially on placements of handicapped workers during the past few years. Some 5000 handicapped persons found emloyment through the division last year. ;

Despite greatly expanded activity in recent years the Church Federation of Indianapolis must prepare to provide services of still wider scope, Charles A. Breece, president, told 50 fund-raising campaign leaders at a dinner Priday night at the Central Y. M. C. A. The workers will begin solicitations Monday in an effort to raise $20,000 in two weeks to carry the federation's work through 1047.
