Rochester Clips Kautskys, Pistons
By UNITED PRESS The Rochester Royals, eastern leaders in the National basketball league, appeared to have the entire circuit well in hand today after scoring week-end victories over the Indianapolis Kautskys, western pace setters, and over the eastern division’s second-place Ft. Wayne Zollner Pistons. Led by Bob Davies and Al Cervi, the Royals rallied to defeat the Kautskys, 57 to 48, at Rochester on Saturday night. Davies, with 19 points, again was the main cog for the Royals last night as they downed the Pistons, 67 to 65, in an overtime battle at Ft. Wayne. Ft. Wayne took a 65 to 61 lead in the overtime, but Rochester rallied, tied the score on two {free throws by Davies and won on Fuzzy Levane’s shot from_the side. The Sheboygan Redskins held off a second-half Chicago. Gears rally and won, 63 to 58, while the Oshkosh All-Stars moved into a sec-ond-place tie with the Anderson Packers in the western race by defeating Toledo, 61 to 59.
