Isabel E. Remy | Is Bride of W. A. Norton
Couple Leaves On Wedding Trip
Miss Isabel Ellen Remy became the bride of Arthur Norton at 3:30 o'clock Sat y afternoon In the Central Avenue Methodist church. The bride's grandfather, Bishop Edwin Holt Hughes of Washington, read the vows, assisted by Dr. F. Marion Smith. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Henderson Remy, 44 BE. 54th st. The bridegroom's parents are Mrs, Caroline B. Norton, 3760 Broadway, and Raymond C. Norton. The double-ring ceremony was read before a background of green and white Christmas trees and candelabra. Tall candles and greenery marked the center aisle of the church. Bride Wears Velvet The bride's gown of white velvet was fashioned with a high V neckline, leg-o'-mutton sleeves, full skirt and long train. Heirloom princess lace formed a bolero and extended in a panel to the edge of the train. She wore her mother’s illusion cap, accented with orange blossoms, and lace veil. The bride carried a cluster of white poinsettias surrounding an orchid. Miss Jean Swaim, maid of honor, wore a high-necked dress of burgundy velvet fashioned with a shirred bodice and full skirt. A similar dress of jade green velvet

New Gadgets Headed for The Kitchen
The List Includes Lots of Coffee Pots
By NEA Service NEW YORK, Dec. 30.—~The pere fect coffee brew vies with perpetual motion as a post-war challenge to inventive minds, judging from the number of bright-idea appliances which are headed for the American kitchen to improve the flavor of the cup that cheers, The latest coffee pot marvel is spoutless—a towering pair of alumi num tubes, one of which is corke collared for handling, and the other, designed to do the inside job, is perforated for releasing the brew. Three-Minute Brew To the skeptical coffee maker, this newcomer may look more like a Chinese box of surprises than a pot, but inventor-claims made for it are six cups of top quality coffee brewed in three minutes. » Operation? The coffee-filled ine ner tube sinks slowly under its own weight into the hot-water-filled outer tube. Water flows over the grounds through the perforated inner tube. After the coffee is twice stirred vigorously, the inner tube is raised and rested on the removable alumie num collar of the outer container to allow the fragrant beverage to. drain. Release into the second tube consumes less time than ft takes to put the cups on the table, Robot Coffee-Maker Add to the list a new vacuume type electric coffee-maker which sleepyheads can plug in and forget until the morning's eye-opener is ready to swig. Thermostatic cons trols do the pot-watching for them, When the water has bubbled up from the lower bowl into the coffee filled upper bowl, the robot switches off the high heat but keepsthe brew piping hot over a low heat.
