Conferences Extend Through Most of '47

By R. H, SHACKFORD United Press Staff Correspondent NEW YORK, Dec. 16.—Imporcant | internatiopal conferences and commissions were decided upon at the Big Four council of .foreign ministers just closed in New York, ONE: A special financial com-

TWO: A second special commis- | sion will begin at once an on-the- | spot investigation of former Italian colonies. The colonies were taken away from Italy by the Big Four, but their disposition was post poned for a year. THREE: The United Nations security council was called upon to begin looking at once for a man to be governor of Trieste, Deputies Meet in January FOUR: Big Four deputies will meet in London on Jan. 14 to be-| gin hearing the little United Nations express their views on the German and Austrian treaties FIVE: _About the middle of January, the peace treaties with Italy, Finland, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary will be submitted to future signatories for checking of the final legal versions, and these treaties will then be signed in Paris on| Feb. 10. SIX: The Big Four itself will meet again in Mesecow on March 10 to begin work on the German and Austrian treaties. SEVEN: Within six months after the Balkan peace treaties come into force, a special Danubian conference {will be called to create an interna{tional regime for handling navigation on the Danube. | On most of the 50-odd recom{mendations for the satellite treaties {made at the Paris peace conference, | Russian Foreign Minister V. M. { Molotov finally gave up his obi jections. He won one major con{cession from U. S. Secretary of [State James F. Byrnes. Italy's reparations bill was increased to $360 million and Bulgaria's cut almost in half to $70 million.
