By Seripps-Howard Newspapers WASHINGTON, Dec. 16.—Harold M. Talburt, cartoonist for the Scripps - Howard newspapers, will take office Jan. 1 as the 1947 president of the Gridiron Club, famous Washington newspaper organization, Mr. Talburt was chosen unanimously Saturday at the club's annual election meeting. Phelps Adams of the New York Sun was named vice president. The election preceded the winter dinner of the club at which President Truman and other figures on’the national scene was lampooned in the traditional gridiron manner.
