Waring Gets Symphony Bid

Fred Waring and Fabien Sevitzky will share the podiim at the Indianapolis - Symphony's municipal concert in the Murat at 8:30 p. m. Tuesday, January 7. The unusual combination of conductors has been planned by Dr. Sevitzky to ally popular with classical music in the minds of people who profess allegiance to only one of the two. Long-time friends, the two conductors have previously discussed the project, only this year Yeelding} it was feasible. Not vet definitely set, the program will not be a “contest” or battle | hHetween the two types of music, but | rather a “musical merger,” in which each conductor will present his own type, conducting alternately.

Broadcast Tomorrow Free The Symphony boxoffice in the Murat will be olosed today and tomorrow because of Shrine ceremonials. : Tickets for the children’s concert at Cadle Tabernacle at 10 a. m. tomorrow will be available at the| Tabernacle beginning at 9 a. m, Dr. Sevitzky has invited the pub- | lic to be his.guests at the orchestra's | broadcast from Cadle at 2 p. m, to- | morrow, Door will open at 1 p. m.| and be closed at 1:45 p. m. No tickets are necessary. | The orchestra will return to the| Murat to play a municipal concert | at 3 p. m. Sunday. Ellabelle Davis, | soprano, and Elmer A. Steffen’s Indianapolis Symphonic choir will also be heard in the concert.
