Good Weather
1 Aids U. S. Crops
By Science Service
WASHINGTON, Dec. 13.—A preChristmas present of a week's really good weather has just been received by Uncle Sam, farmer. Most of the time it has been sunny and not too cold, and what rain and snow did come has not been heavy. . This has made it possible to get into the fields for late plowing, 0 clean up the last scraps of cottonpicking in the south, and to make good progress toward getting the last of the corn into crib in the midwest. b Drying conditions have been better, too, making it safer to put corn into storage than it was during the fall. / There is plenty of moisture in the soil for winter wheat over most of the country, and the melting of early snows in the west has opened thousands of rangeland acres for winter grazing, In the citrus area, groves are in good condition, and fruit shipments are increasing.

“Sound morality in such matters|dent morality,” he said. He pointed out that the long-!
revered “honor system” has had to be abdlished in at least one gregt American university this year. Under that system, students pledge personal honesty in all academic work, and hold their fellows to strict honesty in exams without faculty policing An 11-fold study of college administration which Dean McAllister is making during his tour will consider the problem of fostering moral attitudes in collegians.
