other player at any position came within a mile of this quartet and it was significant that the fifth backfleld nominee, Arnold Tucker of Army, the second team quarterback, had 1079 points, far more than some of the first team linemen. Other second team men were Herman Wedemeyer of St. Mary's, Charley Justice of North

Wedemeyer and Savitsky had to settle for second team berths. Bob Fenimore of Oklahoma A. & M, was out a lot with injuries and received little consideration for the halfback berth he won a year ago. Hoosiers Mentioned The voting was done by men who had seen college squads in action in every locale, providing the best cross-section of opinion possible to obtain, Among players receiving honorable mention were James Martin and John Zilly of Notre Dame and Norman Maloney of Purdue at end; George Sullivan and Zygmont Czarobski of Notre Dame and Russell Deal and John Goldsberry of Indiana at tackle; Howard Brown of Indiana and Dick Barwegen of

Although the Flyers are trailing the American league's Western division, they are a belligerent outfit and seldom go down without giving “their all” for their aggressive coach, Ralph (Bouncer) Taylor. The Caps are still in the thick of the fight for top. honors in their division, although Cleveland has shown signs recently of “pulling away” in the top spot by building up a five-point lead over runnerup Pittsburgh and six points over third-place Indianapolis. But Cleveland plays at Hershey tonight and the Bears, ‘who are eight points out in front in the Eastern division, stand a good ‘chance of halting the Barons. In other .games tonight, Pittsburgh is at Philadelphia and New Haven at Buffalo.
