Gift Boxes To Be Sent To Europe

A LITTLE BOY in Norway opened his gift box from America. He found many items that he never had seen in his country and delightedly took them out one by one. There was a comb—he gave that to his father—some soap which his mother could use and a ribbon. He gave that to his sister. But .the little red truck he kept himself. That's what he wrote to members of the Junior Red Cross here who filled the box and sent it to that country. Approximately 15,000 high school students—besides most of the grade school pupils in Indianapolis—are members of this branch of the Amerfcan Red Cross. uted in the schools by Red Cross workers over there. Pencils, crayons, blotters, toothbrushes, washcloths, rulers, handkerchiefs and needles and thread go into the boxes. In some countries thread is sold by the yard. Besides the educational and health contents of the box, there are toys, too—balls, tops, puzzles, hair ornaments, dolls and some snapshots of the class in school which fills the box. The list of contributors is inclosed in the box.
