Teach Cleanliness

With Conservation

Don't'#hake such a fetish of cleanliness that your youngsters will turn against it! But set them" an example theyll be proud to follow when they're grown up. Children should be taught that cleanliness does not mean letting soap lie unnecessarily in the washbowl, or keeping the hot water turned on all during handwashing. Soap and hot water represent materials and power which should be conserved.

Less Sugar in Pies Is Not Noticeable

A fondness for fruit pies, coupled with the necessity for stretching sugar, led Mrs. Julia Kiene, director of the Westinghouse Home Economics ifistitute, to find that sugar in berry and apple pies can be cut. At least '% cup, and sometimes 3% cup can be left out without noticeable difference in the sweetness. The recipe isn't otherwise adjusted.

Mahogany Resistant To Insects, Decay

The choice of mahogany during the war, for planes and fast boats like the famous PT’s, to a great degree was due to its unusual resistance to insects and organisms of decay. This is an important consideration for a wood to be used in water and in the tropics. These characteristics help to make mahogany the ideal cabinet wood.

{of polish means that a thorough | washing is needed for a clean foundation before you apply new polish. Wash one’ section at a time with a light lather of lukewarm suds. Wring out a lintless cloth nearly dry in clea» water and go over the sudsed spot. Then wipe with a dry cloth.
