Davis carried 16 times for 21 yards net, his longest being 8 yards forward against five trips backward. Terry Brennan was the Irish workhorse during the long afternoon of bangup football. Gerry Cowhig got 34 net yards for five tries, Emil Sitko 25 yards in seven attempts and Bill Gompers who made 25 yards in six tries were effective but took a back seat in the grinding department as the Irish tried to shake loose Brennan.
