© Indiana veterans at the end of October had financéd home loans totaling $55,572,040, the veterans administration said today. VA said 13320 ex-service men had obtained ,home loans under the GI Bill of Rights. The current average of loans in the state is about $4170, the VA said. This’ figure, however, does not reflect the average selling price of homes constructed and purchased under the program, they added. 8 . John Buenting, Indiana VA loan guarantee officer, said 87 of the loans already have been. repaid in full, relieving the government of $127,981 in guarantee commitments. Mr. Buenting sald veterans have | 10 years after the official end of the war in which to exercise their loan rights. Loans for alterations and improvement to homes of eligible veterans also are available under the program, he said.
