Members will tell you that there is inside the church or adjoining rooms durling services or afterward. The Rev. Mr. Piepenbrok ascribes this, in part, to the worshipful appearance of the sanctuary. A carved walnut altar is adorned with the crucifix, vases and candelabra, all in gold. The open Bible reposes always in the center o the altar. *
| THE CHURCH Bs completely 'liquidated its building debt and has raised most of the money to defray the expense of the redecoration of the auditorium. Every cranny of the building is being put in order for the anniversary celebration and even the lawn is being relandscaped. St. John's had 225 members when the Rev. Mr. Piepenbrok assumed the ministry. Now it has more than 1000, half of whom are young folk. The pastor has dreams of a youth worker to plan and conduct a program for. the many young people of the congregation. For years, Mrs. Piepenbrok has] served as his secretary, doing the clerical work and holding in memory the thousand and one facts of which a church secretary must be .
