|| Before the amendment changed the law, if a veteran died the proceeds of his policy went to a regular order of relatives if the pribeneficiary no longer was

And if the veteran had selected {no primary beneficiary it went to widow, children, parents, brothers or sisters, in that order. THE PIECES But now, under. the amendment E. tor's fees and court expenses. The veterans’ administration claims that under the amendment it is now possible, where the insurance of a deceased ‘man goes into his estate, that those beneficiaries who would otherwise have been chosen will never realize the benefits. It also means that a relative of a deceased veteran who might not have been his choice as a beneficiary can receive benefits from his insurance while another person whom he might have wanted as a beneficiary gets left out in the cold. Regardless, the veteran who fails to name a contingent and primary beneficiary subjects his dependents to the risk of unnecessary expense and delay. Veterans should get the address of the nearest VA regional insurance office from the local post office and ask for VA Form 336, fill it out and take care of this matter immediately if they haven't already named a primary and contingent beneficiary in their in-
