NATIONAL 24-HOUR FORECAST SUMMARY: Fair weather will prevail over New England, the , Middle Atlantic states, in Florida, Alabama, .Idaho and along the Pacific northwest coast.

Showers are forecast in the Mississippi valley, upper Lakes region, New York, Ohio, Indiana and the Carolinas; also, in California, Nevada, Utah and Oregon.

Rainfall will take the form of drizzle over the Central Plains where warm air aloft loses some of its moisture along the cold front. of the front from the Lakes region to -Texas will occur when moist tropical air flowing northward from. the Gulf of Mexico clashes with cold air from Canada, There will be some prefrontal showers west of the Rockies, too, and snow flurries over the mountain ranges where moist air is forced too high, cold altitudes.
