The institute, it is hoped, will be the first step in a community puppet program, At the opening session at 8 p. m. Monday, a colored movie on construction and professional demonstration of manipulation techniques will be shown. -There also will be an exhibit of various types
of puppetry. The schedule for the other four days of the institute includes
classes at 2:30 and 7:30 p. m. each day on the Phases of puppet construction and manipulation.
Builds Puppets Mrs. Wiksell has conducted puppetry institutes for many Junior leagues in the country during the past six years, and also acted as consultant and lec turer at the puppetry conference held in Dayton, O., by the A, J. L. A. in 1939. She designed and built puppets and masks for “Alice in Wonderland” produced by Miss Maude Adams. She also designed and modeled portrait heads for historical figures of the Pioneer Women of Missouri exhibit for the, New York World's fair, the San Francisco World's fair and the permanent exhibit at the Missouri state capitol.

Girl Reserves Select New Name
Y-Teens is the new name of the Girl Reserves. The name was adopted by the national board of the Y. W. C. A. at a recent meeting in New York. The action was taken because Y. W. C. A. members felt that the nameé did not adequately describe the program offered to teen-agers. It is felt that the new name describes the age group, includes both boys and girls, indicates that it is part of the Y. W, C. A. ahd is applicable to all the activities in the agency's program for young people. Over half a million young people are taking part in the Y. W. C. A. program through clubs, canteens, camps, conferences and hobby classes.” There are 759 registered clubs and associations where the Girls Reserves program has been
sponsored throughout the U. 8. since 1918. : New publications, ceremonials,
songs and insignia will be introduced in the Y-Teen groups this fall,
W.C.T.U. Convention To Be Monday
