MEN’S SUITS SLASHED

WASHINGTON, Sept. 19 (U. P.). —A plan to make 1,000,000 suits for veterans from government surplus fabric has been slashed sharply, it was revealed today. The war assets administration said suit and coat makers bought only one-third of the more than 7,000,000 yards of surplus cotton, wool and« worsted goods offered.

A spokesman for the civilian production administration blamed lack of response in the suits-for-veterans program on the fact that much of the woolen goods offered turned
