JAP THEATER is PLANS G. I. MEMORIAL

TOKYO, Sept. 18 (U, P.).—Kimio Atobe, 30, wealthy theater owner who is spending 70,000 yen ($4600) for a monument to “an unknown American soldier,” said today he is planning another project to honor victims of the U, 8S. B.-20s “because they fought for peace.” An avowed pacifist who spent two of the war years in prison for his leanings, Atobe recently dedicated a private cenotaph to Japanese war dead in the compound of a Buddhist temple. Inscribed in English letters on the semi-circular, five-foot stone monument is the single word “Truth.”
